Jane West summons Americana voices like Emmylou Harris and Bobbi Gentry with the contemporay sounds of Lake Street Dive and Margo Price in a relaxed, engaged atmosphere. Before the pandemic, she was hummin' & strummin' at clubs, hotels, corporate events, museums, weddings, children's parties, memorial servies, store openings, surprise engagements, and singing telegrams. These days she's adding more online performances (by request), collaborting and arranging upcoming vocal projects, and is planning to record once gig season slows down.
Singing all over the Greater Pittsburgh Area since she was six years old, Jane's passion for music followed her musical studies (nationally and internationally). since she started on violin at 9 years old. Over the years she's been focusing on voice, particularly vocal harmony / arranging, supporting her reputation as an excellent backup singer. These days she focuses on accompanying herself on guitar.
Even though Jane is petrified of competions, she was named one of the top ten unsigned music artists of The Pittsburgh City Paper of 2021 and won first place with Meredith Holliday in Greensburg's "Rock The Palace Battle of The Bands" in 2016.
Jane loves playing private parties, offering a cappella, acousitc, and electric music options as a solo, duo, full band, or vocal group. It's difficult to put Jane's voice into one category after studying classically then moving into singing rock, pop, jass, bluegrass, and country. She's also performed choral, Celtic, blues, musical theatre, and barbshop tunes; she continues to learn more genres as time marches on.
